Ready Remote 40027 Key Fob Programming Instructions

This Ready Remote 40027 system uses replacement remote: ELGTX7, 26671, 26661, 24471, 24461

There are 2 methods to teach the module (brain) the transmitter code:
I. REMOTE TRANSMITTER CODE LEARNING WITHOUT ACCESSING THE MODULE
Some DesignTech Remote Starters have a special have a special feature that fallow new transmitter to be taught without accessing the module under the dash.
1.Turn ignition (key) ON then OFF (Do not start the vehicle).
2. Flip control toggle switch OFF the ON.
3. Slowly push the brake pedal TWICE (dash lights will turn on for 2 seconds).
4. Flip control toggle switch OFF then ON (while dash lights are on for the 2 seconds).
5. PUSH and HOLD the car button on the transmitter.
6. The dash lights will turn on then off the signal the code has been learned.
7. Teach other transmitters. Repeat steps 5 and 6.
8. Dash lights will turn on and off four times to signal the exit of the programming mode.

II. TRANSMITTER CODE LEARNING AT THE MODULE
(The module is often be located under the driver’s side of the dash, mounted above the pedal controls. The module is 9″ long by 2″ wide with two push buttons and one LED on the side)
1.Turn the control Switch ON.
2. Push the RED button to the right of the LED. The red LED and  and the lights will come on for a second. (The remote starter powers the ignition and accessory wires)
3. Hold down the car button on the transmitter until the red LED and the dash lights come on again for second . (The module has now learned the transmitter code). Release the transmitter button.
4. To lean additional transmitter (up to 3 more). immediately (within 5 seconds) push and hold the car button on another transmitter until the red LED and the dash lights come on for a second again.
5. Wait 10 seconds after the last transmitter was taught to the unit, the LED, ignition and accessories will flash 4 times signaling that the unit has exited code Learning.

Note: Teaching the module a new transmitter code will erase all previous codes, so all transmitter must be taught at the same time. You have only 5 seconds between transmitters to begin teaching a new transmitter.

Your transmitter is factory coded to the remote starter module with over 16,000,000 different codes. The remote starter module can learn the codes of up to 4 different transmitters. if you want to add additional transmitters to the receiver or if it does not respond to your transmitter-follow the steps below to teach the receiver the transmitter code(s):

A. Open Hood.
B. Turn the ignition ON (do not start the vehicle).
C. Press and HOLD brake pedal.
D. Quickly push and release Programmingbutton twice.
E. Release the brake.
F. The LED will glow solid Orange.
G. Hold down the LIGHTS button on the transmitter for second until you hear the horn honk (or just look at the orange LED to go out for half a second). The module has now learned the transmitter code. Release the transmitter button.
H. To learn additional transmitter (up to 3 more), within a few seconds, push the LIGHTS button on another transmitter for a second or more until you hear the horn honk (or see the orange LED go out for a half a second). Repeat for the remaining transmitters.
I. 5 seconds after the last time the transmitter was learned the unit exits the code-learning stage. (The Red LED light will turn on solid when unit exits Code learning).
J. Turn the ignition ON(do not start the vehicle).

Note: Teaching the module a new transmitter code will erase all previous codes- so all transmitters must be taught. You have only 5 seconds between transmitter to begin teaching a new transmitter.

Note: You must teach the receiver module in the vehicle with the transmitter code. The BLUE button on your replacement remote is the START button. If you don’t have a blue button on your new remote press ANY button. Teaching the module a new transmitter code will erase all previous remotes controls, so ALL TRANSMITTERS MUST BE TAUGHT AT THE SAME TIME. You have only 5 seconds between transmitters to begin teaching new transmitter.

In most cases to program the remote you need to access the MODULE of the the system. The module is often being located under the driver’s side of the dash, mounted above the pedal controls. The module is 9″ long by 2″ wide with two push butons and one LED on the side.

1. Turn the Control Switch ON (is a toggle switch located under the dash, on driver side with ON and OFF positions)
2. Push the RED or CODE LEARN button. The red LED and the dash lights will come on for a second.
3. Hold dowdn the START buton for 5 seconds on the transmitter until the red LED and dash lights come on again for a second.
4. To learn additional transmitters (up to 3 more), immediately (within 5 seconds) press and hold the same button for 5 SECONDS on another transmitter until the red LED at the dash lights come on for a second again.
5. Turn Control Switch OFF position and wait 10 seconds after the last transmitter was taught to the unit, the LED, ignition at accessories will flash 4 times signaling that the unit has exited code Learning.
6. Test the remote.
7. If doesn’t work fine repeat the same procedure pressing the LOCK buton on step 3.

Short Procedure: Control Switch ON, Press and release RED or CODE LEARN button on the brain, Get one LED blink, Press Lock or START button on the remote, urn Control Switch to OFF position, wait for four blink on the LED, Test remote.

Some Models like 20036/20038 and 25536/25538 have other programming procedure (The module will most often be located under the driver’s side of the dash, mounted above the pedal controls. The module is 9″ long by 4″ wide with two LEDS on the top cover).

1. Turn the Control Switch ON (is a toggle switch located under the dash, on the driver side with ON and OFF positions).
2. Flip dipswitch #1 down “ON” the Green LED on the module and the dash lights will come on for a second. (The remote starter powers the ignition and accessory wires).
3. Hold down the LoCK/UNLOCK button for 5 SECONDS on the transmitter until the Green LED and the dash lights come on again for a second. (The module has now learned the transmitter code) Release the transmitter button.
4. To learn additional transmitters (up to 3 more), push and hold the LOCK/UNLOCK for 5 seconds on another transmitter until the Green LED and the dash lights come for a second again.
5. Flip dip switch #1 up “OFF”. The Green LED and the dash lights will flash 4 times signaling the unit has exited Code Learning.

If your vehicle’s system was installed without the valet switch you can order one and install it to make it easier to do the programming.
