Automate model 553 Key Fob Programming Instructions

This DEI Automate model 553 system uses replacement remote: EZSDEI471, 471T, 471C473A, EZSDEI474V

ATTENTION: These types of systems can only be paired with a maximum of 4 remotes and it comes with a remote that’s already programmed to it.

But if you bought a new remote or wants to change your existing remotes button functions just follow these steps.

1. Turn ON the ignition, make sure the engine did not start.

2. Within 10 seconds press the valet switch/button the number of times corresponding to the desired channel list shown on the picture. Then you press the button one more time and HOLD it. The LED will flash and keep on holding the button/switch.

3. Press the button on the remote that you’re programming to the system.

4. When your remote’s button is programmed, that’s the time you can release the valet button/switch.

TIPS: You can advance from programming one channel to another by releasing the Program switch and tapping it to advance steps and then holding it. For instance: You have programmed Channel One and you want to program Channel Two. Release the Program switch. Press it one time and release it to advance from Channel One to Channel Two. Now, press and HOLD the Program switch. The LED will flash two times. As beffore, do not release it.

If you want to program Channel Three after programming Channel One, release the Program switch, press it twice and release it to advance to Channel Three. Then press it once more and HOLD it. LED will flash three times to confirm it is ready to receive the code from the transmitter.

The following Learn Routine can be used to program this replacement transmitter to the system. Refer to the owner’s wallet card to find which system (ignition or start) was installed.

Starter kill system learn procedure.

1. Key Start. Turn the key to the start position. if the vehicle does not start then proceed to step 3. If the vehicle the starts then  the starter kill system is not armed. proceed to step 2.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the start position and the vehicle should not start.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cyclce the key from off to start position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the start position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press button 1 on the transmitter within 5 seconds (the starter cranks). Repeat steps above to learn up to a total of 4 transmitter.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 30 seconds. Press transmitter button 1, turn the key to start, the vehicle should not start. Test transmitter button 2. Turn the key to ignition and press transmitter button 2. Turn the key to start. the vehicle should crank and start.

Ignition kill system learn procedure.

1. Key. Turn the key to the ignition position. if the power is present, then the ignition kill system is not armed. If no power is present proceed to step 3.
2. Key Off. Turn key off and wait for 40 seconds. Turn the key to the ignition position again. Power should be present.
3. Cycle. Turn the key OFF and then cyclce the key from off to ignition position 3-times within 5 seconds and then hold in the ignition position on the 4th turn.
4. Learn. Press button 1 on the transmitter within 5 seconds (ignition has power). Repeat steps above to learn up to a total of 4 transmitter.
5. Test. Turn the key OFF and wait 30 seconds. Press transmitter button 1, turn the key to ignition position. The ignition should not have power. Test transmitter button 2. Turn the key to ignition and press transmitter button 2. Turn the key to start. the vehicle should crank and start.
